The National Federation of Retail Newsagents is to help members move towards energy efficient lighting by identifying the most appropriate products and helping to secure affordable deals.
At the yearly conference, a motion was put forward by the district council to help newsagents be more energy efficient. This would be carried out as part of the NFRN’s Shop in a Box and/or Shoplink schemes.
Shop in a Box is a shop development scheme run by the NFRN, while Shoplink gives members access to deals and offers on products and services. The federation has 16,000 members in total.
Over 96% of members voted in favour of the motion, which could see swathes of newsagents moving towards energy efficient lighting as soon as the federation identifies the most suitable technologies.
