With the potential to improve visibility to pilots, energy savings, and long life, airports throughout the world are transitioning to LED based solutions at an increasing rate.

Said Jean Paul Fregssinier on the rate of airports making the switch.

Southampton, being one of the first airports to incorporate LED lighting, managed to cut it’s electricity by 10% and are on their way to making a saving of £45,000. Not only are they saving money but the reduction of energy usage has saved over 650 tonnes of carbon dioxide since the beginning of the scheme in 2010. Airports making the switch are leading the way for more organisations to make the change to LED lighting.
