Copenhagen intends to be the first carbon neutral capital in the world by 2025.
Because of this, they are hosting an experiment testing various smart street lighting systems. Copenhagen aim to reduce the city’s carbon emissions by 20% by 2015.
The experiment is run by the Danish Outdoor Living Lab (DOLL), and consists of lighting manufacturers and suppliers setting up and testing their outdoor lighting solution. There are 37 plots containing the products covering the 9.2km of road in Hersted Industrial Park. The installation will be finished in September 2014.
